PROJECT OBJECTIVE:
Proposed project (CZ/SK/PL) focuses on developing a combined bio-leaching-electrochemical system to selectively recover critical raw materials from mining waste and complex ores. By combining microbial redox reactions with electrochemical separation, the approach cuts energy use, reduces sludge, and boosts selectivity — supporting EU circular economy and Critical Raw Materials Act goals.
The project is co-financed by the governments of Czechia, Hungary,
Poland and Slovakia through Visegrad Grants from the International
Visegrad Fund. The mission of the fund is to advance ideas for
sustainable regional cooperation in Central Europe.
