Behind the Curtain of Digitalization: A Conference That Will Show the Reality of Digital Transformation

Today, digitization has a fundamental impact on the functioning of companies, public institutions, and entire regions. It is no longer just about introducing new technologies—the key is understanding the context, impact, and real possibilities for their practical application. These are the issues that will be addressed at the Behind the Curtain of Digitization conference, which will take place on March 23, 2026, at the VRATISLAVICE 101010 Cultural Center in Liberec. The conference is part of the EDIH Northeast program.

A space for inspiration, experience, and dialogue

The conference will offer a combination of expert lectures, panel discussions, interactive presentations, and evening networking. It is intended for companies, organizations, and self-employed individuals who are interested in digitization, artificial intelligence, cybersecurity, and other digital technologies—whether they are at the beginning of their transformation or looking for further development.

Ivo Říha from the National Cluster Organization / CEDEG will guide you through the entire program, ensuring a smooth connection between the individual thematic blocks and an open space for discussion.

Current topics and top speakers

The afternoon program will open with a block dedicated to the direction of artificial intelligence development in the Czech Republic. Lukáš Kačena, the government’s representative for AI, will present the development of artificial intelligence in the Czech Republic. Petra Stupková, awarded AI Personality of the Year 2025 in the field of law and artificial intelligence, will then discuss the legal dimension of AI use.

The theoretical framework will be followed by practical case studies showing how digitization can work in different types of organizations. Participants will learn, for example, about the use of 3D printing in education, an ethical hacker’s view of cybersecurity in the Czech Republic, and the example of the digitization of the Třebechovice Museum of Nativity Scenes, which proves that modern technologies also have a place in cultural institutions.

Panel discussion: Digital transformation in practice

An important part of the program will be the panel discussion Digital Transformation in Practice, which will involve representatives from industry, research organizations, and the public sector. The discussion will feature Kateřina Jílková (VODA CZ s.r.o.), Jan Kočí (CXI TUL), Martin Řípa (Posedla s.r.o.), and Petra Jáhnová (Třebechovice Museum of Nativity Scenes). Lukáš Eršil will moderate.

The discussion will offer an open view of the benefits and pitfalls of digital transformation, sharing practical experiences and inspiration for the participants‘ next steps.

Showcase zone and networking

During conference breaks and the evening part of the program, a Showcase Zone will be available where visitors can view technology presentations, demonstration panels, and specific case studies. The day will conclude with a social evening featuring a nd networking, which will create space for informal meetings, exchange of experiences, and establishing new collaborations.

A special highlight of the program will be an AI surprise at the end, provided by Václav Maněna and Pavel Matějíček.

Digitalization in a broader context

The conference is being held as part of the EDIH Northeast Bohemia project and is being organized in cooperation with regional and professional partners. The complete program is available here.

Participation in the conference is free of charge, but prior registration is required. The event offers a unique opportunity to look „behind the scenes“ of digitization—without marketing jargon, with an emphasis on practice, real-life experiences, and concrete benefits for companies and organizations.
