CryptoByte 2026 is one of the largest cryptocurrency events in the Czech Republic and Slovakia. The conference, focused primarily on Bitcoin, blockchain, regulation, and digital asset security, opened up space for applied artificial intelligence. Representatives from NCK P3DT attended on behalf of CXI TUL, and Bohumil Kolář gave a presentation showcasing specific solutions for intelligent visual measurement in industrial practice.

Bohumil Kolář from CXI TUL presented a perspective on how applied artificial intelligence is moving from the research environment into concrete industrial practice. He introduced the Laboratory of Process Modeling and Artificial Intelligence as well as opportunities for collaboration with companies, but focused primarily on a system for intelligent visual measurement in industry.
The principle is simple, the impact significant: cameras monitor the image, algorithms evaluate it, and the system automatically derives physical quantities from it, which it then transmits to control systems. The image thus becomes measurable data, and ordinary camera footage becomes a tool for controlling industrial processes.
Kolář demonstrated that artificial intelligence need not remain confined to the laboratory. Using wastewater treatment plants as an example, he presented a collaboration with VODA CZ, which focused on the use of AI in managing smaller operations. As part of EDIH, a proof-of-concept was developed using image analysis of data from wastewater treatment plants. A system was created that can provide timely alerts about potential operational issues. The pilot verification subsequently gave rise to the TIVOR project, supported by the Technology Agency of the Czech Republic.
“The conference gave me the chance to present our work and meet potential customers. It also offered me the opportunity to learn about new ideas and trends in the field,” concludes Bohumil Kolář.
