DRINKING WATER ANALYSIS
Our accredited laboratory offers comprehensive drinking water analyses based on current legislation. The analyses comply with the requirements of Decree No. 252/2004 Coll., as amended. This decree sets out the hygiene requirements for drinking and hot water and the frequency and scope of drinking water inspections. We offer both the standard ranges specified by the decree and the option of individual selection of specific indicatorsaccording to customer requirements. The laboratory provides accredited drinking water sampling. Upon agreement and collection of special sampling containers, the customer can also perform the sampling themselves.

REDUCES ANALYSIS
Reduced analysis is used to verify the quality of drinking water sources, approve private buildings, and monitor water in commercial buildings. It provides information on key microbiological, physicochemical, and organoleptic indicators specified in Decree 252/2004 Coll., Annex 5.1.
COMPLETE ANALYSIS
The purpose of a complete analysis is to comprehensively analyze all indicators specified in Decree No. 252/2004 Coll., Annex 5.2. It is required by the relevant authorities, especially for commercial entities with an individual source of drinking water.
ANALYSIS PACKAGES
Individually selected indicators based on customer requirements and needs. TUL package (determination of Escherichia coli, coliform bacteria, Clostridium perfringens, colony counts at 36°C and 22°C, nitrates, nitrites, ammonium ions, chlorides, TOC, Fe, hardness (Ca + Mg content), pH, conductivity) provides basic information about microbial contamination and the chemical composition of water.

aNALYSIS OF WATER FROM VENDING MACHINES, WATERCOOLERS AND BOTTLED DRINKING WATER
We offer companies the opportunity to test whether the water from their installed vending machines complies with the requirements of Decree No. 252/2004 Coll. and is hygienically safe.
ANALYSIS OF WATER FROM SWIMMING POOLS, WHIRPOOLS AND BATHING AREAS
We perform accredited sampling and analysis of swimming pool water samples. Swimming pool water analyses comply with the requirements of Ministry of Health Decree No. 238/2001 Coll. as amended, or can be performed according to the individual needs of the customer. The frequency of sampling and analysis of the required indicators is determined by the decree (or the operating rules of the facility). The laboratory provides accredited sampling of bathing water.

WASTEWATER ANYLYSIS
We offer wastewater analysis to individuals who own, for example, domestic wastewater treatment plants, based on a decision issued by the relevant water authority. The scope of parameters determined for domestic wastewater treatment plants for the discharge of wastewater into groundwater according to Act No. 254/2001 Coll. on Water („Water Act“) §8(1)(c) is most often: BOD5, CODCr, undissolved substances, total phosphorus, ammoniacal nitrogen. Wastewater samples from domestic wastewater treatment plants are taken by the customer themselves according to the instructions specified in the Decision.
INSPECTION OF STERILIZERS AND AUTOCLAVES
We provide inspections of sterilization equipment efficiency to all healthcare facilities and other places where work tools are sterilized (pedicure salons, tattoo studios, etc.).

A laser that can adjust itself—and recognize when it has made a mistake
Scientists at CXI TUL are developing laser systems that can operate without a technician present. The laser adjusts itself precisely as needed and uses sound to determine whether the process is proceeding correctly. Research in the LasApp project is aimed at both space applications and everyday manufacturing. Adjusting a laser is delicate work. If a…

Beads with a nanofiber core. This is a better way to purify water.
Wastewater treatment plants struggle every day with substances that don’t simply disappear from the water. The removal of nitrogen compounds is very important at these plants. If too much of these substances remains in the water, they harm rivers and the life within them. Karel Havlíček from CXI TUL was a co-investigator on the HYMNA…

Science on the Front Lines: Cleanup of a Benzene Spill
In late February 2025, a train carrying benzene derailed in Hustopeče nad Bečvou, and within hours, a race was on to save the groundwater and surface water. One of the most toxic industrial substances began seeping into the gravel-sand subsoil. While fieldwork was underway to prevent the spread of contamination, decisions were already being made…

“Baby bags? That’s how the journey to a product begins,” says Miroslava Rysová
A bizarre email about “baby bags,” skin-friendly laundry sheets, or eye drops with nanoparticles. Research by Miroslava Rysová and the Department of Applied Biology at CXI TUL shows that the path from laboratory research to a practical product is often surprising, challenging, but frequently much more pragmatic than companies initially imagine. When did you first…
