The research direction of Competitive Engineering combines research and development in the areas of manufacturing and automotive industries with great application potential. The workplaces support the industrial activities of entities not only in adjacent regions and focus on the application of new technologies and technological processes to ensure a higher level of innovation in industrial production.

The 3D Technologies Department is dedicated to research and development in the field of additive technologies. Our activities include 3D printing using state-of-the-art technologies for processing metal and polymer materials.

The department combines activities of materials development and analysis, especially nanomaterials, using plasma and surface analysis technologies. We are able to analyze tribological and mechanical properties of thin films, coatings and substrates.
